My trip to Russia was amazing! We stopped at a restraunt to get a bite to eat after that long air plane ride from the States. Most the food there was made up of beef, butter, bread, potatoes, & eggs. There were no vegitables or fruit. I asked the waiter why that was, and she said that they need carbohydrates to help them through the cold weather. And how cold it was! Back in Texas it's a low of 60 degrees in january, but not here! It was -19F.I was freezing, but thank goodness I brought my huge ski jacket. It was pairadice when we got into the hotel with a blazing fire that warmed us up pretty quickly. That's all for today!
Bye!
The Russians must need to eat many soup and stew meals to keep warm. It is difficult to imagine temperatures that low. Stay warm. Keep me posted on your trip.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh!!! I can't believe it gets that cold. I would absoloutely die!!! I imagine that soups and carbohydrates are a good way to stay very warm, so that is a very good idea. Kudos to whoever came up with that one!!! But I'm content with eating icecream in winter here in Houston, thank you very much!!! Have fun on the rest of your trip, and stay warm!
ReplyDeletehey everybody!! You'll never believe what I've done today! My tour guide for Russia was getting married today, and he asked me to come! And boy, are Russians partiers!!!!! They are going to keep the party going for a week, and thats pretty common here! Of course I couldn't stay THAT long because I had to catch a flight to Italy! I can't wait to explore!
ReplyDeleteWell, thats it for now. Oh, & make sure to check out a cool pic I took of the bride and groom.
Bye!
